Cultivation Freezing Sales

Results of Tevitta’s Work

LNZ Group entered the “top twenty” of the largest landowners in Ukraine three years ago, and since then, it has firmly maintained its position. However, in 2022, the company focused not on expanding its land bank — which is understandable given the ongoing war over Ukrainian land — but primarily on developing new areas of activity for itself. In doing so, it once again demonstrated that LNZ Group is a diversified holding. Therefore, when selecting a company to assess the impact on the agribusiness in Ukraine, in response to the main challenge of 2022 — the war — we had no doubts. Agree, the ability to develop in new markets during wartime is an interesting topic.

Despite the war, the Tevitta brand was able to increase its production, storage, and processing capacities. Although the brand had been operating in 2021, 2022 marked the year of its full-scale launch and operation. The brand combined seedling production, freezing of berries, vegetables, and fruits, and market sales of its products. The company made a loud announcement about its market entry on February 7, 2022. So, the full-scale military invasion coincided with the company’s developmental stage. However, despite the working conditions, the company confidently maintains its market share among experts in berry farming.

The Tevitta brand has a closed-loop production cycle and manages all processes independently — from cultivation to direct sales. Specifically, the nursery grew 2 million strawberry seedlings, 220 thousand raspberry and blackberry seedlings, and about 50 thousand seedlings of other crops: rose hips, elderberries, currants, and cherries. The company has planted two new mother plants for raspberries and strawberries, a nursery for growing seedlings, and built nearly thirty tunnels on an area of more than 2 hectares for berry cultivation. Additionally, the company has laid out 60 hectares of land for growing various raw materials for processing — from strawberries to rose hips. The nursery works not only to meet its own needs but also willingly shares high-quality seedlings with farmers involved in industrial cultivation.

The berry, vegetable, and fruit freezing plant is one of the most powerful and technologically advanced freezing facilities in Ukraine. In 2022, the total volume of frozen products amounted to approximately 7,000 tons. The product range at the plant includes raspberries, sweet corn, pitted cherries, pumpkin, elderberries, currants, blueberries, and others.

The company is satisfied with the results — in 2022, the plant reached almost 100% capacity. Furthermore, it expanded its export boundaries. The products have already reached markets in France, Belgium, Germany, Estonia, and the UK. In addition, by the beginning of 2023, Tevitta’s frozen products will be available on store shelves in Ukraine and other European countries.
